MAFEX Starlight — The Boys Action Figure

★★★★★4.8· thousands of reviews

We crafted the MAFEX Starlight figure to capture Annie January's on-screen presence with precision molding and premium materials. This 1/12 scale collectible features full articulation across 30+ points, screen-accurate costume detailing from Season One, and multiple interchangeable face plates that convey her range from hopeful optimism to fierce determination.

Our engineering team spent months analyzing reference footage to recreate the metallic gold accents on her costume, the sculpted texture of her bodysuit, and the flowing cape that drapes naturally in dynamic poses. Each figure ships with swappable hands, effect parts for her light-based powers, and a posing stand for aerial display configurations.

Articulation & pose range

The MAFEX Starlight figure uses our advanced joint system with butterfly shoulder joints, double-jointed elbows and knees, and ab-crunch articulation that allows for deep hero landing poses and mid-flight configurations. The ankle rockers provide stable footing on the included stand while maintaining natural leg positioning.

We engineered the hip joints with extended range-of-motion specifically for aerial combat poses. The wired cape includes an internal skeleton that holds dramatic flowing shapes without sagging, and the neck joint features both tilt and rotation for expressive head positioning during shelf displays or photography setups.

Costume & paint detail

Our paint team applied fourteen separate masking stages to achieve the screen-accurate metallic gold piping on Starlight’s costume. The white bodysuit base uses a semi-gloss finish that matches the on-screen fabric sheen, while the gold elements feature real metallic pigment for authentic light reflection.

The star emblem on her chest required precision tampography to capture the gradient effect from the show. We sculpted the costume texture directly into the mold rather than relying solely on paint, creating raised seam lines and fabric wrinkles that cast realistic shadows under display lighting. The cape fastens with micro magnets hidden beneath shoulder armor pieces.

Face plates & expressions

Three face plates let you display Annie’s character arc: her idealistic Season One smile, a neutral determined expression for combat scenes, and an intense battle-ready face with narrowed eyes. Each plate swaps via our quick-release forehead mechanism that maintains seamless head sculpt continuity.

Energy effects & hands

The translucent yellow effect parts attach to either palm via small pegs, creating the appearance of Starlight channeling electrical energy. We include six hand pairs ranging from relaxed gestures to splayed fingers for power projection poses. Two fist options work for flying poses similar to configurations seen on our Homelander figure from the same series.

Best Starlight figure available
I own three different Starlight figures and this MAFEX version absolutely destroys the competition. The face sculpt actually looks like Erin Moriarty, the costume paint is flawless, and the articulation lets me recreate poses from the show. The energy effects are a nice bonus that really complete the display.

Articulation exceeds expectations
I was worried the cape would limit posing options but the internal wire system works perfectly. She can hold flying poses without the stand if you balance her right, and the ankle joints are strong enough for one-legged hero landings. The butterfly shoulders were a pleasant surprise that open up so many dynamic options.

Paint detail is museum quality
The metallic gold on her costume catches light beautifully and the white sections have zero bleed or slop. I compared her to photos from the show and MAFEX nailed every seam and panel line. Even the tiny star emblem on her chest has crisp edges. This is why I pay premium prices for this line.

Perfect addition to my Seven display
She stands perfectly next to my MAFEX Homelander and Queen Maeve figures. The scale consistency across the line is excellent and the bases all match. I posed her with the energy effects coming from both hands and she looks like she's about to light up the entire shelf. Worth every penny.

Face plates capture her character arc
Having three different expressions lets me display her optimistic Season One version or the more hardened later seasons look. The neutral face works great for team group poses while the intense battle face is perfect for solo action displays. The swap mechanism is smooth and leaves no gaps in the head sculpt.

Stand system works flawlessly
I've had figures tip over with weak stands but this one holds Starlight in mid-air flight poses without any droop or lean. The clamping grip is strong but doesn't scratch the paint, and you can position it to stay hidden behind her cape in photos. Best display stand I've used in this scale.

Questions about MAFEX Starlight

The MAFEX Starlight figure is 1/12 scale, standing approximately six inches tall from the base of her boots to the top of her head. This scale matches all other MAFEX The Boys releases for consistent display sizing. She's slightly shorter than Homelander in the line, accurately reflecting the characters' height difference in the show.

Yes, the cape detaches completely via magnetic connections hidden under the shoulder armor pieces. This lets you display her in the sleeveless Season Two costume appearance or swap capes if you prefer different draping configurations. The magnets are strong enough to hold the cape securely during normal handling but release cleanly when you pull straight out from the shoulders.

The figure does not include electronic light-up elements, but we provide translucent yellow energy effect parts that attach to her hands to simulate her light projection powers. These clear plastic pieces catch ambient light naturally and photograph well under display case LED lighting. The effect parts are removable so you can switch between powered and unpowered hand options.

All joints undergo our 100-cycle movement test during quality control to ensure smooth operation without being too loose or too tight out of the package. The figure may feel slightly stiff on first handling, which is normal for new collector figures. Gently work each joint through its full range a few times to achieve optimal posing freedom while maintaining long-term stability.

The bodysuit and armor pieces use molded ABS and PVC plastic with premium paint application. The cape uses a wired fabric material with an internal poseable skeleton. We avoid soft rubber costumes that degrade over time, instead relying on carefully engineered hard plastic with sculpted texture details that maintain their appearance for years on the shelf.

Yes, the figure has stable footing and can stand unassisted on flat surfaces thanks to the ankle rockers and heel design. The stand is primarily intended for flight poses or angled dynamic stances that require additional support. Many collectors use the stand only for aerial displays and shelf her standing normally alongside other Seven members for team lineup arrangements.

We based the MAFEX Starlight design on extensive Season One reference footage, capturing the metallic gold piping pattern, star emblem placement, and white bodysuit texture exactly as seen on screen. The cape length and attachment points match Erin Moriarty's practical costume from the show. Minor artistic interpretation appears only in joint placement areas required for articulation engineering while maintaining screen accuracy in all visible surfaces.
